Short Summary
My name is Laina Paez; I am the director of S16TEEN, a project created for my Narrative Production class at UT Austin. I am so excited to start production on this project! It has been months in the making, and we have spent countless hours working towards its execution.
The story follows Stella, a rebellious teenager who sneaks out of her parent's house on the eve of her 16th birthday to go to a forbidden party. Though the idea is relatively simple, we hope to make the film as a showcase of our skills and show what we can do with minimal resources.
This film aims to capture the teenage experience, learning from our mistakes, and the reality of rebellion. We are so excited to bring this film to life and would love to have you along for the journey!
Here is our budget breakdown!
Crafty ($300):
- Our cast and crew of about a dozen people are the backbone behind the production. Their hard work and effort will be essential to ensuring an amazing production.
- We will allocate $300 to 3 days worth of meals, snacks, and water to keep everyone fed and happy.
Costumes/Props ($200):
- We are allocating $200 since our costumes/props will be essential to conveying Stella's extensive and exhausting journey through north Austin.
Transportation ($75):
- Though we were able to secure a location for free, it is located 30 minutes from the UT Campus and will require us to have crew/cast carpool.
- We will allocate $75 since we would like to reimburse our drivers the gas money for the 3 days of filming.
Distribution ($125):
- After the film is finalized, we plan to submit to festivals around Austin. This will help cover any entry fees that we may encounter!
