Short Summary
I'm Jean Caffeine, a musician, visual artist and storyteller with a storied past and I've worked up a show and an album to share those stories with you.
Sadie Saturday... is a concept album about coming of age in the San Francisco punk scene. It's the companion piece to a raw, confessional show I've written and performed. Some of you have seen the show and shared your coming of age/rock scene stories with me!
Now you can get the songs from the show on vinyl or as a digital download. Realizing this album has been uphill journey, from written memoir to performance piece to my first vinyl LP. I'd love for you to help me get it across the finish line.
The album includes six new songs, a Zeros cover, storytelling and several re-worked songs from my back catalog. The timing of this album is really cool because this is the 40th anniversary of the birth of California punk rock and the 40th anniversary of the release of many seminal first punk albums (the Damned, Clash, Sex Pistols, X and many more).
Sadie Saturday was recorded at Sounds Outrageous Studio in Austin, engineered and co-produced by Lars Göransson. Players and special guest stars include Josh Robins, John Kovach, Mike Trebilcock, Thor, Andy Garsea, Paul Martinez, Jamie Bahr and Leila Henley....AND I PLAY DRUMS ON TWO SONGS!!
Perks include:
-limited edition LP w/sticker
-digital download
- house concert
& more! Cool stuff, I think you'll like.
I can also send you an advance MP3 of my forthcoming single "All Girl Band" after you make your contribution!
The money you pledge will pay for the LP pressing, and possibly pay back some of the many recording and production costs. In the current music climate, there isn't much money that can be recouped from releasing albums or touring. For me to make new music, and keep the creativity flowing I need to partner with you, my friends, fans and family.
So thanks for stopping by. I appreciate you.
