OUR STORY

Sam aircraft, a Canadian registered company located near Montreal, designed and built a modern aircraft with a retro silhouette and elegant curves, aiming to attract nostalgic aviation enthusiasts with a passion for performance.

The Sam has been designed using Solidworks, 3D CAD software, allowing a precise & easy assembly of the aircraft.

Sam aircraft’s objective is to offer a retro style aircraft with modern comfort, technology and flying manners in the United States and Canada.

WHY THE SAM IS A UNIQUE KIND OF BIRD

The Sam has been designed with a unique modular conception in order to perform different type of mission thanks to its capacity to accept 3 wings with different wingspan in order to adapt the flying characteristics to the pilot needs.

3 easily interchangeable wings:

  • Short Wings of 25.3 ft. customized for speed and cross country

  • Medium wings of 28.5 ft. versatile, maneuverable and  fun to fly

  • Long wings of 31.8 ft. designed for short fields operations

 

The SAM can also be personalized by choosing:

  • A Nose-wheel or tail-wheel version

  • To fly open or closed canopy

 

THE SAM HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO BE STURDY , SECURE AND FUN TO FLY

The Sam has been design under the Canadian ultra-light aircraft regulations and the American ASTM /LSA standard.

The wings have been tested to a +7.9 G ultimate load with a 1320 lbs. gross weight aircraft. More than 3620 lbs. have been placed on the left wing to test the wing structure with no failure. Click here to see a photo of the wing under ultimate load.

A steel protection cage has been designed around the pilot and passenger to protect them in case of unwanted landing.

Designed to welcome tall persons, the cabin offers comfortable space to accommodate 6'-6'’ pilots in a tandem configuration with the pilot in the front for better visibility.
