Sari Hati's Story
Sari Hati is a grassroots non-governmental organization in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia which serves as a school for mentally and physically disabled students living with conditions including autism and down syndrome.
Through Sari Hati's holistic approach it aims to create a unique environment that allows each student to reach their full potential. In addition to educating their students the school has programs to cultivate life skills and social skills so that students can gain greater independence in the future. By showing parents and the community the amazing things these children can achieve, Sari Hati is working to create a positive and supportive environment both in and out of school for the physically and mentally disabled in Bali.
Sari Hati Needs Renovations
In order to continue educating and empowering physically and mentally disabled children through its programs, Sari Hati hopes to make some improvements to the school. The school’s main flooring lacks the coating necessary to make it non-slip and safe for the students and staff, especially near the bathroom facilities where it gets wet often. In addition, they would like to update the kitchen facilities where they cook lunch for students and staff each day. The school’s lease is also about to end and they are currently gathering the funds necessary to account for the likely increase in price when they renegotiate the lease for the coming years.
The Impact
Through this campaign we hope to raise $1,000 USD for Sari Hati. The money raised from this campaign will fund renovations for the school including new flooring and kitchen appliances. Additionally the money will go towards extending the school's lease for the future.
