Esame menininkių trio – kino ir teatro režisierė Rugilė, rašytoja ir poetė Vaiva, kompozitorė ir performansų menininkė Lina. Mūsų kūrinys – opera-performansas „Saulė ir jūra (Marina)“ – išrinktas atstovauti Lietuvai bene prestižiškiausiame šiuolaikinio meno renginyje – 58-ojoje Venecijos meno bienalėje. Tai tarsi olimpinis maratonas, trunkantis šešis mėnesius.
Tam, kad Lietuvos paviljonas pritrauktų kuo daugiau lankytojų, visą šį laikotarpį gyvai opera turi skambėti kuo dažniau. Todėl kūrinį, kuriame pasirodo daugiau nei 20 dainininkų, planuojame rodyti kiekvieną šeštadienį po 8 valandas. Tam reikia ir jūsų pagalbos!
Esame suskaičiavusios, jog viena gyvo operos “Saulė ir jūra (Marina)” pasirodymo minutė (neskaitant paviljono nuomos, techninio aptarnavimo ir kitų pasirengimo išlaidų) kainuoja 3$ (2,65€). Jei kavos puodelio vertą paramą skirtų 12 tūkstančių žmonių, tai užtikrintų atlygį atlikėjams per visą Bienalės laikotarpį.
Paprastai Venecijos bienalėje pristatomi statiški meno kūriniai – skulptūros, piešiniai, videomeno darbai. Tokia ekspozicija instaliuojama prieš bienalės atidarymą, o jai prasidėjus paroda gyvena savarankišką gyvenimą ir nebesikeičia. Mūsų atvejis kitoks. Dirbame su daugiau nei 30 žmonių komanda, dainininkai savo partijas mokosi jau dabar. Visą pusmetį, nuo Bienalės atidarymo gegužės pradžioje iki spalio pabaigos, su jūsų pagalba, kiekvieną šeštadienį jie galėtų kurti gyvą reginį.

This year the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale will turn into a sunny beach filled by singing vacationers. Sun & Sea (Marina)– an opera-performance by Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, Vaiva Grainytė and Lina Lapelytė – will reflect wittily on daily life, ecology and the fatigue of our old and patient planet. In order to keep the beach alive, we need your support – the more we fundraise, the longer the beach will be singing!
We are an artistic trio – film and theatre director Rugilė, writer and poet Vaiva, composer and performance artist Lina. Our piece – the opera-performance Sun & Sea (Marina) was selected to represent Lithuania at the most prestigious contemporary art event – the 58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. It is like an Olympic marathon, that lasts for 6 months.
To achieve pavilion’s highest visibility Sun & Sea (Marina) needs to be performed live as often as possible. It is a durational opera-performance for more than 20 performers. We are planning to show the opera every saturday 8 hours a day. To achieve this – we need your support!
We have calculated that one minute of appearance of Sun & Sea (Marina) costs $3 (€2,65), not including the rent of the Pavilion, technical assistance and preparatory expenses. If the equivalent of a cup of coffee would turn into a support by 12 000 people, it would secure the salaries for the singers throughout the duration of the Biennale.
The Biennale usually features static art works (sculptures, paintings, drawings, videos or installations), which require thorough preparation before the opening, and then stay as they are. Our case is different. We are working with a team of over than 30 people and the performers are already learning and practicing their parts. With your support they could sing live at the pavilion from the opening of the Biennale in early May to the end of October.
