The Impact
Since it's inception in 2009 youMove Company has been creating new contemporary dance works, delivering potent dance education experiences across the state for 100's of young people, building audiences for dance with numerous free outdoor public events; the company has launched several careers of independent dancers, choreographers and even lighting designers, they have employed over 15 professional dance makers, commissioned ten new Australian works, employed over 25 dance artists, mentored over 30 aspiring emerging artists... all of this in only three short years and afforded by the unrelenting passion and commitment of youMove's founder and artistic director Kay Armstrong, who often works to support the growth of the dance sector via youMove's prolific activity on a voluntary basis.
This is the first time that youMove has asked directly for donations - we hope that our call for help might get answered by anyone who has seen us, been a part of the many programs we have provided, been on the recieving end of any of the amazing opportunities that youMove has initiated...or perhaps you just love giving for a good cause. This production was supported in its creative development stage, but is not receiving any funding or support to present- we are relying on our fabulous supporters - YOU!
