26 December 2014 Update
From early December, Ryan has been in and out of CGH for a series of tests to find the cause of his seizures: Here are the results of the tests:
* MRI Head and Spine: - Slight difference in size of Left and Right hemispheres of brain.
* 24 hr ECG - No unusual heart activity
* CT Brain - No anomaly
Ryan has been transferred from the care of General Medical physicians to Psychological Health Management, under the care of Dr Cheryl Loh, CGH. He has been prescribed muscle relaxants and mood uplifters and is seeing a psychologist who is helping him cope with traumatic incidents in the past which may be auto triggering the spasms. We are also exploring holistic treatments.

This campaign was started to help Ryan Rey, a 16 year old student who is suffering from a sudden undiagnosed illness.
On the 17th of October 2014, Ryan felt dizzy, sharp chest pains and suffered a sudden a black out while walking his dog. When he woke, he managed to stagger back to his block. Upon reaching the lift lobby of his level, Ryan took a few steps out of the lift and collapsed.
He had chest pains, was hyperventilating, shaking badly with seizures & he lost consciousness. An ambulance rushed him to the Accident & Emergency department in Changi Ceneral Hospital and was warded for 5 days while the doctors tried to find the cause of his seizures. The investigations included numerous blood tests, CT scan of the head, an x-ray and an ECG. The tests were inconclusive, but he was found to have an irregular pulse, his ability to walk has been impaired, he suffers muscle spasms & hyperventilation at frequent intervals.
Since then, he has been sent to the A&E for seizures on 4 separate occasions and he is scheduled for further, more invasive tests the the following months to find the cause of his illness.
Ryan Rey, or Roy as he is affectionately known, is the eldest of 6 children. He is currently studying his final "O" Level year in St Patricks School. Due to his sudden illness, Ryan has missed many of his "O" Level papers. Despite this, Ryan remains optimistic and hopes to be able to get treatment and recover so he may sit for his final exams again next year.
The family have fallen on hard times. Ryan’s parents ran a transportation service but they had to close their business recently due to high operating costs and other factors. Ryan's father is forced to accept a lower paying job.
Here is where you, our friends, can help! We are seeking kind contributions that will go towards Ryan's medical bills.
We would truly appreciate your help and any amount of contribution for Ryan. We thank you for your time and contribution and let us pray that Ryan will bounce back stronger after this!
