Let's Chat Short Films

Hey, I get it, there are a lot of short films being made and why should you donate to this one? Ummm because I asked you dumb bi--KIDDING! That would insane if I wrote that, right? I wouldn't. What I will is say that this is a passion project; it's something I've wanted to do for a while and I want to do it right. Which means I need your help. Myself and a group of investors have contributed half of what this campaign requires, and we're looking to you to help us realize our vision. We've shot our primary footage, and now we need to execute a few re-shoots, post production, and the glorious film festival circuit. 

Why now? Why this short? Well, in a world increasingly grappling with gender politics and power dynamics, Scissors cuts deep into societal constructs of masculinity and femininity. This script flips the slasher genre on its head, offering a bold commentary on queer empowerment and camaraderie. By embracing absurdity, dark humor, and sharp dialogue, it feels both timely and timeless.

Why We Need Your Support

As filmmakers, we are deeply committed to bringing this story to life. To date, my producers and I have committed $10,000 of our own funds to the project. However, we are now turning to our community of supporters to help us raise an additional $10,000 to ensure we can fully realize our vision.

Your investment will directly contribute to the following critical aspects of post production:

1.    Editing: We want this bad girl to POP! And that means a colorist, editor, sound mixer, and a VFX artist. And we have some amazing crew lined up and want them to get their bag because they're so good they deserve it! 

2.    Re-Shoots: High-quality cameras, lighting, sound equipment and crew are essential to achieving the look and feel we envision for an additional day of production. 

3.    Festivals: Our goal is to do an amazing festival circuit; along with that, making graphics for promotion.

Look, I wish I could offer you the chance to go to Hollywood, meet Steven Spielberg, make back double your money, become a global icon, but right now, I can’t.
