Our Story
Scrooge & Marley is a modern-day variation on Charles Dickens’ classic story of the holidays, A Christmas Carol. Recounted from a gay sensibility, with heart, comedy and music, the magic of Dickens’ timeless tale of a man’s redemption at the holidays—thanks to the help of three ghostly spirits— comes alive from a fresh perspective that will appeal to audiences of every persuasion.

The Impact
One of the ways we change society is through our culture, and film is a great way to tell our LGBT stories. There are very few gay holiday films, ones for the entire family and our LGBT allies, too. By showing a diversity of our lives, we help create a larger cultural acceptance.
What We Need & What You Get
The budget for our film is $100,000. Most of that will be raised through investors, and the remainder will be raised through individual contributions. We will be shooting in May 2012 in Chicago, with a primarily Chicago cast and crew. Our funds will go to paying cast and crew for their valuable time, and to make this low-budget independent film look and sound the best possible.
Other Ways You Can Help
We would love for you to help us by sending this campaign info to your friends through social networking sites and email. If you are in Chicago, we will soon be planning our shoot schedule and looking for people to assist in production.
