I'm Darien. I design and build and ride stuff all day every day! I have 30+ years of surf, skate, and snow - each. I think of a board as a profound treasure ... a Katana (sword) for your feet --- an extension of you.  
 

To put it mildly: Not everyone can just drop everything and go surf when the waves are just right. This quagmire has a way of perpetuating intermediacy, seemingly forever ... to which I can personally attest. I built Seaskate in my garage because i needed it. Like, this was an EMERGENCY. 

My surf has improved more riding this thing than in my first 3 decades in the water. The math is exponential.
