Who killed Roger Hollander?

          For more than a year, the grizzliest murder in the history of the normally sleepy, mid-cities town of Hurst, Texas has gone unsolved. With the Roger Hollander case growing colder by the day and desperate for any kind of breakthrough, the victim’s mother turns to private investigators Donovan Bay and Michelle Benson. 

          They dig in immediately, but the more they dig, the worse the victim looks, the more potential suspects they find, and the deeper the mystery becomes!

SECOND WEDNESDAY is the debut novel from veteran writer J.C. Vaughn, the creator-writer of the graphic novels Vampire, PA and Zombie-Proof, the crime comic series McCandless & Company, and mystery/romance Antiques: The Comic Strip. He's the co-writer of three acclaimed one-shots and a mini-series from IDW Publishing based on the hit Fox TV show 24, and the comics series Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe, based on the MGM TV series, for American Mythology Productions. He's probably best known as Vice-President of Publishing for Gemstone Publishing, the home of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, which is presently celebrating its 50th anniversary.

With compelling characters, fast food cravings, jazz, and plenty of Texas ambiance, SECOND WEDNESDAY introduces the private investigator team of Donovan Bay and Michelle Benson as they work the Hollander mystery. At the same time, a second, pop culture-infused case confronts them with missing high-end comic books worth half a million dollars!

Risks & Challenges

If you supported McCANDLESS & COMPANY: CRIME SCENES, you know that instead of meeting our goal to deliver the comics by the end of February 2021, we beat it by at least a month and in some cases by two months!

• Our goal always is to be on time or better. However, we can't control acts of God, medical emergencies, COVID-inspired shutdowns, and the like.
• What we can control is that the files will be ready for the printer before this project ends, only requiring an update if a backer or backers select the option(s) of having a character or characters named after them, in which case we'll go to press as soon as the credit cards clear on Kickstarter.
• Presently that period, up to two weeks, is the only delay we can anticipate.
