I invent disruptive technology. And I am very good at what I do. I have a background in product development, and own a prototyping company in Colorado Springs.
I came up with Seismic Audio about a year ago, and I never had an opportunity to make it fully come to life. I did a bunch of work on it. Wrote business plans, filed patents, made contacts with the target market, part suppliers, and distributors, I had a working prototype that always impressed people, but it couldn’t get it off the ground due to lack of time and resources. I heard of Indiegogo, and decided to give it a shot.
We all know people that ride motorcycles and bicycles with headphones in. They are a danger to themselves and others. This product gives them a new and different choice.
The concept is rather simple: Physically transfer audio vibrations to a structure or medium instead of producing sound waves. Using a contact plate instead of a cone.
Once attached to a structure like a bike helmet or motorcycle helmet, the vibrations from the device transfer to it, then transfer to the attached user.
Essentially, the signal bypasses the main ear canal that otherwise would have been occupied by headphones, and allows you to hear both your music and the environment, clearly. It replaces headphones without sacrificing sound quaility.
The device is made out of thick, flexible and durable rubber so it conforms to any helmet. Just attach it, pair it, and you are good to go.
I have demonstrated it with about 35 people in different fields and environments, (bicyclists, motorcyclists, construction workers, power plant engineers, snowboarders) and every time I did, their reactions were the same. They were overwhelmingly surprised at how clear the audio was..... The sound really is quite brilliant.
It is definitely something that needs to be experienced
If I can raise this goal or even get close, My company and I can get it off the ground, and have it to market within a year with a estimated purchase price right around USD $250, maybe less, and you will be able to experience it for yourself.
The actual unit will be more streamlined, yet just as rugged and flexible. And those that get on the pre-order list will get a first look at the updated design before release.
So what do you say. Give it a go? If so, help me get it done and contribute a bit.
P.S. The audio tracks in the video first of all, aren’t really mine. Second of all, they sound absolutely incredible when wearing this product. (Credit for the music goes to the "Piano Guys- Desert Symphony" and "Emancipator - Good Knight")
