Hello,
I am a student at the University of Houston and am currently pursuing a degree in Marketing. I feel called to help out people in Latin America in any way I can. I have only visited Mexico and Colombia and I fell in love with both countries. I want to help people who feel the need to move to the United States in order to be successful, therefore created the social venture "
Sembrando Mochilas." Sembando Mochilas is Spanish for "sowing a backpack", kind of like when you sow or harvest a seed. Our mission is to sow a seed of hope and love into children who don't receive that message from their own communities. I am so excited to go on this journey and hope you all join us!
Thank you,
Isaiah Colin
What We Need & What You Get
-
Our goal is to raise $5000 but we wanted to make a goal we know we could reach so we won't be charged if we don't meet our goal.
- Our goal is to help 200 children in Colombia.
The Impact
- You will be helping out 200 children who attend elementary.
- Although the drug presence has diminished in Colombia, drugs are still present in the poorer communities in Colombia. Older students tend to turn to drugs and we would like to invest in the children in order to help break the cycle.
Other Ways You Can Help
- We will also need people to accompany us to Colombia. Obviously, we will not be able to pay for flight and accommodations but we will work with our contacts in Colombia to see how we can help lessen the cost. If you are interested please contact, Isaiah Colin at icolin94@gmail.com.
