About Campus MovieFest
Campus MovieFest is the world's largest student film festival. They travel to college campuses and provide students with the equipment to produce a film. The students then take the camera, tripod, and laptop and have seven days to create a short film that can be no more than five minutes. The best movies from each school are then entered into the national competition.
CMF Hollywood 2015
The national competition takes place in the film capital of the world, Hollywood, California. For four days over the summer, all students who have qualified for the national competition meet in Hollywood for a weekend of cinematic fun.
The events include the chance to pitch a film and win money to produce it. There will be workshops and panels about the various aspects of film production. All of the entries will be shown on the big screen so that the students can see each other's work and on the last day, the students walk the red carpet to the awards ceremony. It is an unbelievable experience for any future filmmaker. To learn more about this year's festival, check out the following link for CMF Hollywood 2015.

About Am-Asian Films
Three freshman film majors at Hofstra University were already great friends decided to undertake the CMF challenge at its inaugural season at Hofstra University. Spring break had just ended and the three students thought it would be a great chance to see how well they worked together. The end result was an amazing seven-day experience writing, filming, and editing a short film. The film was entitled Just Not Today and was submitted to compete against the other Hofstra films.
CMF Hofstra 2015
We were hoping to see some of their fellow student's work and had no expectations going into the screening. The jury consisted of Hofstra staff and students and the top four films would receive a jury award and move on to the national competition in Hollywood.
To our surprise, we were the first film called. Having not expected this, we stood there shocked for a moment, accepted our award, and gave an improvised acceptance speech. As we sat back down, we were simply shocked. Slowly, it dawned on us what had just happened. An all-freshman team held their own against the upperclassman.
We now need up your to help get us to Hollywood!
What We Need
We need about $2000 to cover the majority of our expenses.
Airfare: About $400 per person per round trip
Hotel: About 185 per person per night
CMF Hollywood Passes: About 100 per person
The rest of the money we will pay ourselves. We promise to make every dollar count.
Thank You
We would like to thank you in advance for taking the time for reading this campaign. Any amount of money you are able to donate will be heavily appreciated. It is not often that freshman have the chance to compete nationally and spend a weekend in Hollywood.
