Please support children in the arts by contributing to our cause!
The Classical Dance Center Ballet Competition Team recently earned an amazing opportunity to compete at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) finals in New York City, April 10th-16th, 2015!
The 9 young girls (ages 11-16) are committed to raising funds to fly to NYC, to pay for their hotel rooms for a week and their entry fees, as well as to pay for food and incidentals. The team cannot go without raising these funds and these devoted dancers are dedicated to accomplishing this goal.
Classical Dance Center, established in 1994 by former Joffrey ballerina, Elizabeth Molak-Huebner, trains students of all ages and levels in many dance forms, including classical ballet. The Classical Dance Center Ballet Competition Team has won many awards at regional competitions and now has the honor of representing their studio and community at the YAGP finals alongside top ballet dancers from all over the world.
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world’s largest student ballet competition, which awards scholarships to leading dance schools worldwide. The semi-finals competition takes place annually in 19 cities internationally. The invitation-only finals takes place at the Lincoln Center in New York City and is the subject of the award winning documentary, “First Position.” Please visit www.yagp.org for more information about the competition.
In the event that the dancers do not reach this goal, they will create a fund to go next year in the hopes of making the finals again.
Please contribute if you can. Either way, please help us get the word out by sharing (you can also use Indiegogo share tools).
Thank you!!
