Short Summary
Scott is a gifted 7th grader who has an amazing opportunity to attend a 3-week college program this summer through Duke University's Talent Identification Program. The purpose of this campaign is to pay for the part of the tuition that was not covered by finanical aid, the cost of transportation to and from the college campus, and supplies required by the program.
What We Need & What You Get
The funds received will go directly towards paying for Scott's tuition and transportation costs. Any funds received over the requested amount will be placed in an account to pay for future education opportunities, including next year's program.
Contributors of at least 10 dollars will receive a handwritten thank you note and a unique drawing by Scott. (He's pretty talented at art too!) Drawing requests will be considered.
Contributors of at least 30 dollars will receive a handwritten thank you note, a drawing and a t-shirt designed by Scott. (Please tell us your shirt size)
The Impact
Scott attends public school in a small town. While the teachers are excellent, opportunities for further education are limited. And for kids like Scott, who need to be intellectually stimulated, the Duke TIP program gives them an opportunity to work with kids at the same level, in a college setting, learning subject matter that they would never be exposed to otherwise. Scott will be taking an Architecture course this first year. The classes are 6 hours a day for three weeks.
This is your chance to contribute to the future of a bright and promising kid!
