Short Summary
Veteran indie film producer Roderick Powell and screenwriter Erik Bernard are both experienced martial artists. The goal in combining their talents was to create a great martial arts movie for martial artists, fans of martial arts action movies, and other filmgoers.
"Shaolin Wing Chun: The New Beginning" is the movie that will set the new high standard in the martial arts film genre. The story is about an American orphan, Michael, who is adopted and raised by the Chinese community. Along the way, the city's Chinatown becomes overrun by a brutal gang leader. The local kung masters search within their students for someone who can challenge the gang leader. In the end, they find that the American outsider is their best hope.
What We Need & What You Get
Filmmaking is a costly endeavor. The folks involved in this movie have already invested a large amount of their personal funds into the project. We need your help to make donations so we can make further progress getting the project off the ground. We have to pay legal fees, make deposits to secure location, pay actors, pay the crew, pay caterers for food and so on.
The movie budget is much higher than our goal of $100,000 here, but we will look to movie studios, distributors and other well-heeled investors for the big bucks. Every dollar counts and if you lend us a hand, we will reward you with great perks, such as DVDs of the movie, tickets to the movie premiere, and even martial arts equipment for you martial artists out there.
The Impact
Re-introduce great authentic, realistic martial arts movies into the United States and the world. No characters flying in the air from treetop to treetop, but real martial arts like those shown in the classic Bruce Lee movies from the seventies.
