What is Sharur?
Sharur is a video sharing website that combines the functionality and work aspect of YouTube and the hospitality that the users want. Videos will play with HTML5 by default, so no more apps for Apple devices. There will be no pre-video ads. The only advertisements will be in subtle placements where you will not be interrupted from the viewing experience.
Do video creators get paid?
Yes! Instead of making users watch up to 30 seconds of advertisement before they can watch the wanted video, all ads will be in very subtle, out-of-the-way places on the site. This way we get the money we need to stay up, video makers get up to 75% of the revenue, and everybody wins.
How will "Content ID" be in place?
We do not plan to have any Content ID issues like the current YouTube stance. If a company claims a video, real people, not algorithms, will verify that the claim is valid. If it isn't, you still get money. If it is, the company who claimed the product will receive the monetary earnings. Until someone verifies the claims, your video will still receive revenue, however it will be held by Sharur until the claim is proven invalid, then given to you.
How will money get to the creators?
Each monetized account will have to set up a PayPal account in which we deposit to. There will be no hassle. You get paid daily.
I'm a company. Will there be any checks in place for copyrighted content?
Each video will immediately get revenue paid out. If a company claims the content, a team member spots it, or a user reports it, a team member will check if the claim is valid, and if it is, the daily revenue from that video will go to the company, and all revenue from then on.
What types of account are there?
User, partner, corporation, and manager.
Users are regular video makers and commenters. If they put effort into their videos, and put out content frequently, they can apply for a partner account. With a partner account, you get paid for your videos. Corporations can apply for a corporation account. With this account, you are able to claim content, and the video would be put higher in the review queue rather than content reported by a user or partner. A manager is a team member. Managers are split into groups such as reviewers. Needless to say, they manage the site.
Are there any limits for videos?
If we get enough money from this fundraiser, no. You will be able to upload as much content as you please. If we cannot afford the necessary funds, we may employ some limitations such as 1GB per day of videos, or 15GB total. It will not cost money to get the limitations removed. You will just have to apply for an upgraded limit, or be a partner, corporation, or manager.
