Short Summary
Women of color are often at the forefront of effecting change, at times through circumstances beyond their control and out of necessity. Inspired by an open letter written by Tarana Burke and in homage to my mother’s legacy she left me, I felt a need to create a platform inciting dialogue and discussion speaking to our current social climate. I felt it imperative to highlight the Voices and Faces of the ‘Unseen’ who dare to speak truth to power in their chosen passions.
From Artists to musicians, politicians and executives to women who are simply living their lives. Their voices will not be silenced
Topics to be included, mental health issues, sexual assault and abuse, religion, LGBTQ issues, Trans-Women, politics, and being a woman of color in our current social climate. Unapologetic is here to create a dialogue and discussion on the state of the world. A chance for us, the viewer to listen to a chorus of voices that have been frequently ignored.

The Impact
My goal is to provide a mirror for young women of color to see themselves revered and respected. To let them know their voices matter and they are beautiful, smart, strong and impactful. I want the world to know the value of these women’s stories, to hear the gems, and pains of living in the skin of the ‘unseen’, to feel energized and uplifted by their very presence. Black Women and women of color are the backbone of our culture. It’s time we listen as she speaks, unapologically.

There are no guarantees when you are putting together a film, but I'm confident with your help, we can raise the funds necessary to support a platform that values the voice of marginalized women. Voices that deserved to be valued and nurtured. It takes a village, join us in this mission.
