The Story of SHED:
After not seeing eye to eye for a long time, two brothers are forced to work together for one momentous task… to paint their Gran's shed.
SHED is a highly original short. Inspired by the likes of Wes Anderson, Yasujirō Ozu, Andrea Arnold and Harmony Korine, SHED is aided by greats such as these in crafting its style and narrative, but becomes something unique in the process. Those who have seen it know that it has an original vision and voice.
Meet the Team:
- Writer/Director/Producer Harvey Gardner is an emerging talent in the Glasgow filmmaking scene, whose films are comedic, heart-wrenching, fast, slow, colourful and most importantly, up-beat in the face of dark times.
- Cinematographer Jack Jeffrey is an amazingly talented camera person, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of cinema. Here, he helped Harvey create a distinctive look, utilising long takes, highly composed framing, and helping in creating the technicolor wonderland that is the setting of the film.
- Joshua Haynes and Saul Davidson are two up and coming acting talents. Josh's character is muted and stilted, while Saul's is loud and bombastic, creating an interesting dynamic with two very different style of acting.
- The rest of the amazing cast and crew can be found listed at the end of the trailer (top of the page) or on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SHEDfilm/?ref=br_rs
What We Need:
- As stated, we're looking to secure festival rights for one of the songs. "When we fight, we fight" by The Generationals is an integral song to our film, and if you've seen it already you'll know why. It sparks the emotional heart of the film, as the two brothers reluctantly begin to warm to each other once again after the previous awkwardness they have shared together. People who saw SHED at our UWS showcase screening at the CCA, and have seen it elsewhere know the power and fun of the scene.
- Plus, submitting films into festivals is expensive, and time consuming. Since Harvey, the director, has already self-funded SHED from his savings, he needs a little help in securing these funds.
- No matter what you give, it will aid us in getting SHED seen, and if the resoundingly positive response so far is anything to go by, then it could mean big things for those involved in the production.
What you get:
- Those who donate over £10 will get a wonderful selection of goodies relating to the film. Keep in mind too, that with every higher grade of perk, you will receive ALL yes ALL the previous perks with it!
