“ARMY MEN”
Adolescent depression, and teen suicide. “Army Men” is a coming-of-age tale based on a true story. A Miami-based artist returns to the tough battlefield of his childhood neighborhood in Queens, New York, only to be haunted by the memories of his late best friend. A story of friendship, loss, and regret.
This project will be a short film and trailer, with the sole purpose of spreading mental health awareness, as well as for the purpose of raising funds for the full feature version of the film.
Paul Louis is a Miami-based award winning Actor/writer/filmmaker, who produces human development themed content such as autism awareness, bullying, family separation, and more. His documentary, “The Rican-ing of White Boy” was the audience choice award winner at the Rincon international film festival. We all have had moments in our life where we wish we could return and change the outcome. The film “Army Men” deals with this topic and more.
This period piece set in 1973 and 1980, is seen through the eyes of New York children, who consume their daily lives in imagination to avoid the more troubling things in their own family home. The film deals with mental illness, suicide, family dysfunction, and PTSD due to wartime.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to produce our project. We have an amazing cast of adult and child actors, our production crew in place, all of our locations secured, and a winning script. Funding for this project will help pay for travel, Talent fees, transportation, catering, editing, sound, lighting, pre-and post production, Wardrobe, and more.
All contributors will receive on-screen credit.
