I’ve written a new romantic comedy titled ‘Shoulder Dance'.  Here’s a brief description of the film.

When Ira and Josh plan a quiet escape to their idyllic beach house, little do they know it will include Ira’s estranged childhood friend Roger. Their quiet escape turns into a surprising reunion that reveals a complex relationship between childhood friends. A sexy, psychedelic weekend attempts to resolve the past, and the messy business of friendship, sex and love, in the romantic comedy feature 'Shoulder Dance.'

What We Need & What You Get

I’ve wanted to make this film for over a decade, the script is ready to shoot and I have raised 60% of the budget so far. I need to raise an additional $150,000. $100,000 privately and $50,000 here ($100,000 here would be better!). Our budget will allow us to pay cast and crew a fair wage. And we want to make a beautiful film that broadens people’s perspectives and opens minds.

The Impact

I have always wanted to tell personal and uplifting stories.  There is a lot of me in the film and I think people will be able to relate to the relationship between Ira and Roger.  Having a close formative friendship, in which we share our most personal selves leaves us incredibly vulnerable. In the case of Ira and Roger, one gay and one straight further complicates things. 

Regardless of your sexual orientation, I think many of us have developed ‘more than friend’ feelings which are often left unexpressed.  How we feel about them, deal with them and resolve them, is the heart of this sweet and thought-provoking romantic comedy.
