Series Synopsis
“Silence” takes place during the 1927 silent film era in New York City. After their circuit dries, a Vaudeville group decides to make the transition from stage to film. They invest the last of their finances into motion picture equipment to produce a silent film that will save them from bankruptcy. With only one reel of film and no room for error, the team shoots an entire silent film in a single take. While filming, a man walks onto the set and ruins their footage. Out of options and unable to edit him out of the picture, the team markets their film as a comedy and sends it to the box office where it becomes a success. To meet the demands of their new audience and continue their prosperity, the group must find the man who made their first film a blockbuster by ruining it.

Production Crew
This production is ENTIRELY student created.
As a graduate student, Russell McGee is also teaching this production as a class.
The class is composed of Indiana University's undergraduate and graduate film students, along with local actors and actors from Chicago, to produce this web Series.
The intent of the class is to give students the opportunity to collaboratively work in roles similar to actual television production personnel, students will have one primary position that they will be expected to fulfill, such as Director or Script Supervisor.
The primary objective is to give students the opportunity to build their portfolios, hone developing skills, and to provide a collaborative working environment similar to that found in dramatic television series production.
Project Creators
Russell McGee and Nick Krohn have been working together in theatre and film for
over fourteen years.
Russell McGee
Russell grew up in Spencer, Indiana. In 2001, he received his Bachelors in Theatre with a creative writing minor from Indiana State University. He is a Meisner trained actor and he has been directing for twenty years. In 2002, his full-length play, Ankhenaten & Nefertiti, earned him a scholarship to attend the W. B. Yeats International Summer School. In 2007, he was awarded the Basile Playwriting Fellowship through the Indiana Theatre Association for his ten minute play The Clockwork Man and his play Silent Cinema won the Artsweek Playwriting Competition. In 2008, he founded Starrynight Productions and was the Literary Manager of the Bloomington Playwrights Project. In 2009, Russell directed the feature length film The Babbling Banshee. In 2010, he was hired by Communications Disorders Technology to direct and produce two commercials for the National Hearing Test. In 2013, his film "Funeral March of a Marionette" won the "Best Narrative" category and his film "Grief Stricken" was an official selection of the Iris Film Festival. He is currently seeking his Masters in Telecommunications at IU in TV/Film Production.
Nicholas Krohn
Nick is a director, actor, composer and writer. He attended Indiana State University, graduating with a degree in theater. After a few years in Chicago, he moved back to his hometown in southern Indiana and began turning his experiences with the dating world into a play entitled "Uncertainty (or, Imprecision)". "Uncertainty" received a better review in Nuvo News than a touring production of "Cats" being produced on the same weekend. He co-directed Starrynight Productions' "Rocky Horror Show", and directed productions of "Dracula" and "Arsenic and Old Lace" for the Gibson County Theater Company. He is currently writing a novel and another play. He has worked in the arts his entire life and will continue to do so until they nail shut his coffin.
