Our Story
Karibuni SKIZA! We are a group of young people from different parts of the world that are now living in Kenya, starting our own NGO. We all share the same passion for creating a better global community. Each of us has different skills that we bring to the organisation. We believe that development should be inclusive,
interactive and engaging. Only then can we truly involve, empower and
motivate both the communities we work with – and ourselves.
The name SKIZA comes from the Swahili word “Sikiza” :

SKIZA aims to improve the overall educational experience for youth in Kenya, creating a responsible, aware and employable generation. This
will be done through the utilization of interactive community
engagement tools, enhancing learning environments, encouraging personal
development and creating interactive global connections and partnerships
for development. SKIZA provides the tools and support for learning,
self-sufficiency and sustainability in distressed communities in the
Kwale District. SKIZA seeks to motivate, involve and uplift communities
through its unique and engaging attitude towards development.
SKIZA will combine proven development techniques with the
transformative power of MUSIC, ART, SPORTS,
FASHION, EDUCATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT as our mediums to empower communities

The Impact
Impacts of Skiza projects include raising environmental and social awareness through our interactive workshops. Our small business start-up plan for local tailors and young designers encourages creativity and makes more employable individuals. Through our Art, Music and Sports projects we encourage healthy lifestyles, self confidence, team work and support local talent. Our Education department provides the facilities needed to enhance the learning environment and facilitate our project implementation. All of our projects utilize local skill, materials and products, contributing to job creation, promotion of local resources and the economic self determination of the communities. The global "Friends of Skiza" network allows us to share ideas, resources, inspiration and support across the world. Skiza addresses development holistically, benefiting everyone involved

What We Need & What You Get
Skiza is in its start up phase and needs some capital to get our projects rolling. Any donations we receive will be used to implement our projects; from art and music workshops to sports tournaments, ethical fashion design and infrastructure improvements at schools. Our goal of $10,000 will give us a solid foundation to create partnerships at schools in and around our area. If we don't reach this goal, any money received will still be directly used to implement projects at these schools. A little can go a long way and any donations received will be put to good use!
What you get is the satisfaction of supporting the projects Skiza is implementing and contributing to the development of socially responsible individuals, ultimately creating a more responsible global community... not to mention our attractive perks ;)
