After the fall of Mankind, the survivors of After earth have begun living in remote groups. Vital elements of human survival such as food, ammunition, intel and women have become scarce. The lawless lands gave birth to scavengers. Armed robbers gave themselves fancy names and became pirates of the wasteland. The once welcoming, gentle green earth was no longer a place for the weak. Humans perished quickly. Some survived, but only through extreme measures; living on corpses and biohazard waste. From the ashes of the downfall, a new breed of deadly creatures evolved. The new world order had incubated new forms of life. Humans did their best to survive.

Gameplay
Skynet Rising offers an innovative single-player FPS gameplay concept. It features a very challenging experience in a tightly designed open game world. The gameplay mechanics consist of 3 simple loops:

The Chase
This is the most adrenaline pumped gameplay loop. A carefully designed speed-run level that requires precision and mastery of the gunplay in Skynet Rising. The player is given a limited amount of time to reach the end of the level and save Gina. Failing to complete the speed-run level in time results in a spectacular explosive cinematic of the bridge destruction with the train over it. The player is set free in an open world sandbox to capture and activate the Skynet Towers to open a portal and go back in time to redo the speed-run. But this time, he is equipped with better weapons found during The Grind.

The Grind
There are multiple towers in the area. Player must activate the towers in the right order to open the Time Portal. Each tower is guarded by heavily armed Skynet Militia that require careful strategic planning, masterful gunplay and fast twitch reactions to successfully infiltrate. The enemy A.I. is one of the crown jewels of Skynet Rising. Non-human enemies are mindless attackers yet tough to kill. Human enemies are battle veterans and can make dynamic tactical choices based on each combat situation. Enemies are aware of dynamic cover objects, grenades and environmental hazards. The towers are set in an open world environment and can be invaded in many different ways.

The Loot
In order to complete the speed-run in time, Isaac must use the right weapons in right sequence at the right time. Every bullet counts. Every second counts. There is a large variety of guns in Skynet Rising that are hidden all over the game world. Each gun has its own specialty and works best against a certain type of enemy. Knowing when to switch guns is crucial to win the race against time. The most powerful guns are inside the tower houses. They are hard to invade and usually include a Boss battle.

The World
It's a deadly place. Land mines explode upon contact, bridges collapse and your worst nightmares will find you underwater. But, there is a reward for your curiosity....

The world is packed with collectable items that reveal more about the relationship between the characters and their past. The world runs as a sandbox environment with a dynamic AI system. Enemies are collaborative, opportunistic and aggressive. Changing the difficulty settings allows you to experience a whole different game every time.

The beautiful visual effects (water, explosions, light flares, distortions etc) heavily rely on advanced Directx 11 technologies such as Tessellation, SSAO, HBAO, SSAA and more. A procedural destruction system lets rigid game objects break apart in very realistic manner. There are tons of achievements to unlock for destroying and collecting objects in the world. The Characters
Isaac
Main protagonist of Skynet Rising. Isaac used to be a wasteland pirate. Violence is no strange concept for him. Before he met Gina, he was just a man diluted down to one instinct….survival. But Gina had changed him. He became a man with dreams for a better day. He left the battlefields of injustice and became a seeker of hope. After losing his family and loved ones all during one unfortunate morning, now he is on a mission to unlock a mysterious technology to reverse time and fix his mistakes.
Gina
Gina is a tough cookie. She is Isaac’s wife. She encourages Isaac to make the best choices in life. Her affection has turned a cold blooded killer into a prophet. Gina doesn’t know how Isaac would save the world from this never ending nightmare, but she believes in him. Gina is taken by the wasteland rebel group that attacked the town.
Victor
Victor is Isaac’s brother and right hand man. He watches Isaac’s back in tough times. His only concern is to keep everyone safe. He believes Isaac will save the world from its state of decay. Victor is Isaac's only ally in his deadly quest to save Gina.

Aghori & Bloodhound
Corpse eating bottom feeders. They are everywhere. Some of them wander with a pet Bloodhound. The bloodhounds were smart enough to figure out that if they hunt in packs with the Aghoris, there's more meat to go around.

Behemoth
A mutant abomination. This heavy handed moving mountain is almost impossible to beat. Behemoth is capable of breathing underwater and can usually be found in swamp surrounded areas.
Commander
Rebel group commander Crugo. He commands the biggest army of the northern metropolitan district. Nobody knows who he is or where he came from. But his vile reputation precedes him. He is infamous for kidnapping countless women and children from refugee camps.

The Secret Sauce (T-REX Engine)

Skynet Rising is being built with a custom development tool that lets the Game Designers do their best in the most efficient way. We are calling it the T-REX Engine. The T-REX Engine is built around the common features of an FPS Sandbox. With the editor running in realtime, it makes the development & testing process blazingly fast. Object placement, dynamic pathfinding, terrain editing, VFX design, scene save/load and a lot more is done without ever leaving the editor. Custom scripting and animation tools are also planned.
T-REX Engine comes with built in screen effects taking full advantage of Directx 11. All parameters are easily changeable through an intuitive WYSIWYG UI. Advanced rendering features such as SSAO, HBAO, SSAA can be enabled/disabled as necessary.
T-REX Engine features support for Oculus Rift and will be updated with upcoming SDK updates and hardwares. It is currently available for PC platforms only.
