ABOUT US
Hello! We are musicians and artists from Belarus, Ukraine and the Appalachian region of the USA.
We represent our project Slavalachia that brings culture together through folk music.
SLAVALACHIA is a collaboration of folk musicians from Belarus, Ukraine, and the Appalachian region of the USA whose mission is to create revolutionary new pathways for cultural alliance and exchange. Despite the pandemic, travel restrictions, a revolution in Belarus, and other obstacles, SLAVALACHIA is at last coming together again for the first time since January 2020 to record an album in Ukraine this August!
During the last year we have been working together online and even created a music video in support of the fight against authoritarian regimes in Belarus and the world over.

As an independent project we have decided to invite people like you to contribute and help us create a really unique album at the crossroads of Slavic and Appalachian cultures.

ABOUT AN ALBUM
This first full-length Slavalachia album will be built around traditional tunes from Belarus, Ukraine, and the Appalachian region of the USA. All musicians will contribute their creativity and culture to the chosen tunes.
HOW FUNDS WILL BE USED
We are raising funds (4000 USD) to be able to cover studio recording, mixing and album printing. Musicians contribute their own funds towards all the traveling expenses to Ukraine.
WHAT WILL YOU GET
Check out our perks that connected not only to the musicians, but to our traditional cultures as well. There are online traditional vocal workshops, CDs, postcards, tickets and many more!
The Impact
As we told, our album built around traditional tunes from Belarus, Ukraine, and the Appalachian region of the USA. Moreover, we will make experimental renditions and mixture of our cultures. AND! Some of the songs were found by Slavalachians in real ethnic expeditions.
LET'S KEEP YOUR TRADITIONS ALIVE!
