Short Summary
"Overbearing Father causes a daughter to lose control over her stress, giving her strange dreams that get increasingly frightening as she tries to gain control of her and her fathers crumbling relationship." SLEEP.
We are a small group of second year film and Tv Students from the University of Derby who are hoping to rise £750 for 1940s inspired Horror short film. We are a group of passionate individuals who want to create a short film that showcases realisms and creativity throughout.
What We Need & What You Get
The funds raised will be used for wardrobe, transports, catering and hiring actors. All money raised will go towards creating a visually striking horror and surreal experience. We also hope to purchase/hire props and costumes to reflect the nostalgia of the 1940s to which we plan making our location a higher middle class inspired home to capture the vibe of the 1940s.
As a thank you from the team we have decided to add your names into our post credit sequence we also are working to potentially host a screening of SLEEP at its completion to which more details will fall closer to the dates.
The Impact
Why This Project Matters: Our film, SLEEP, explores the complex dynamics of an overbearing father and his daughter, highlighting the emotional struggles that many face in familial relationships. By delving into themes of stress, control, and the impact of mental health, we aim to create a narrative that resonates with audiences and sparks important conversations. Your contribution will help bring this story to life, allowing us to create a visually striking and thought-provoking experience that can inspire and connect with viewers.
Risks & Challenges
As group we aware of the risks and challenges that occur with producing a film reliant on set design and accuracy of the era it is set in. We are willing to downsize to a smaller set expectations to reduce the expenses of locations as well as slight changes to the amount props needed. Even if we do not reach our funding goal we have alternatives for every budget of our film to ensure we have high cinematic quality short.
