Slice: A Cinematic Journey from Cherry Pie to Strawberry Pie
We're thrilled to finally share an update on a project that has been four years in the making! It’s one that we need your help (anything and everything from a small donation, sharing on social media, hounding your friends and family – it all counts) to finally complete. Now that we’ve combined our scripts to shoot one incredible short that we think will do very well at festivals, we need $8.5K to do post-production and release this into the world. The Past:
Back in late 2019, we embarked on a journey fueled by passion and creativity. We brought forth two unique short film scripts, "Cherry Pie" and "Strawberry Pie," both residing in a shared world. This dynamic duo of stories inspired us to dream even bigger, leading to the conception of a show that binds them together.
With your incredible support, we launched an IndieGogo campaign and raised over $14,000. The plan was set, and we were ready to start filming in March 2020. However, as we all know, the world had different plans. Despite the unforeseen challenges, we persisted, honed our craft, and assembled an exceptional team, including the amazing AfterBurner production company, our talented DP Zach Fritz, and a remarkable cast and crew (we'll tell you more about them in a bit).
The Present:
Fast forward to the middle of the strike in August of this year, when, after getting approved by SAG for an interim agreement, we found ourselves on the scorching grounds of Middleton Ranch, shooting our proof of concept, Slice. Set in a mysterious desert diner, Slice offers a glimpse into the solitary lives of its patrons and the moment when their worlds collide. As a broader TV series, it will explore how this establishment exists beyond our conventional understanding of space and time, drawing in the strange, the unnerving, and the dangerous, and unlocking the mysteries within its walls.
Battling 110-degree heat, our dedicated team compressed what should have been a four-day shoot into two, fueled by sheer belief in the project. While the journey has been challenging, we're incredibly proud to share a sneak peek with you – a raw teaser trailer that captures the essence of what's to come.

The Future:
Now, here's the scoop: despite everyone's dedication and passion, we find ourselves needing a bit more support to bring Slice to its full potential. We went over budget (go figure) during principal photography, covering essential costs like location fees, production fees, permits, and more. As we venture into post-production, we're turning to you, our amazing community, to help us raise an additional $8,500.

Editing: Craftsmanship in refining the narrative.
Colorist: Elevating the visual experience with vibrant hues.
Sound-Mixer: Enlisting an award-winning blockbuster sound artist.
VFX: Adding that magical touch to make our world come alive.
