Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for supporting us ! Without you the magic wouldn't be possible!
However we still have big challenges ahead of us and if you would still like to help us make this fairy tale come true please don't hesitate to contact us and support further.
Looking forward, we will keep you updated about our progress!
A modern winter fairytale
It’s that time of the year when even the most rebellious among us tend to become utter romantics. Because… Christmas. Because… snow. Because… It’s the time of magic, miracles, dreams and hopes, cosy nights in front of the fireplace, family and friends, tears and joy, love and devotion.
Ahh.. clichés!? Well, stay tuned, our story is a bit unexpected!

Loosely based on the Russian fairytale about Snegurochka, the story we want to tell is about miracles, but also about trusting the higher forces at work. In this short film we will show and oppose the forces of nature like fire and water, warm and cold.
Yet it's also a story about trusting life and giving in to the moment. Living in the now is one of the most difficult tasks for the human being, because we constantly strive for something or someone that would make us happy. Yet learning to let go helps us live fully in the present, realizing that true love is unconditional and can be found even in the hardest moments because it grows within us.
Like a flower, love needs to be nurtured and trusted. We live in an age where people are too busy and distracted to see the miracles of day to day life. This is why we believe it's important to talk about human connections in a way that highlights the beauty of the moment. We all need a bit of magic in our lives to remember who we are. Snegourochka comes from the spirit world, to bring us the message of love and hope.

STORY
Once upon a time there was an elderly couple who always wanted to have a child. And as usually happens in fairytales, one morning their wish gets granted and beautiful mysterious Snegourochka appears in their home, changing their lives complеtely .
Yet the gangster neighborhood boy Vladimir falls in love with the girl and steals her against the will of the old couple...
The story ends with hope and a traditional ritual: but you have to watch the movie to find out how!

STYLE
The visual style will combine tight three and two shots and mise-en-scènes in the apartment with beautiful winter shots of a neighborhood in Tallinn – trees, plants and the sea – and sparkly fast, dancing images of the city .
The element that will combine everything will be Snegourochka – in a floating and soft camera image.
The colors will be pastel, with blue and white dominating in a big part of the scenes and in a more orange-red contrast with Snegurochka’s melting scene. Snegourochka will be mostly white and blue, light emanating from her.
We are as well planning on using simple CGI effects and animation for the melting scene and several other shots, where Snegourochka is glowing and snowflakes are falling in front of the camera.
Part of the music will be based on traditional Slavic elements, yet we are also searching for possibility to use old classic Russian songs. Special electronic remixes are also planned for one of the scenes.
The film will be aiming for younger audiences, but also for grown-ups who haven’t grown up in their hearts. The film will be in Russian language and its approximate length- 25 minutes.

HOW DOES YOUR DONATION HELP?
Your donation helps to fund the entire production in the way we envision it.
We are incredibly lucky to be working with some amazing actors – Helen Rekkor (Snegurochka), Aleksandr Zhilenko (Vladimir), Liidia Golovataja (Olga) and Jevgeni Gaichuk (Sergei) – who are all professionals both in film and theater . They are all working on this project just for the love of it!
We do have some funding and equipment for free from the Baltic Film and Media School (it’s a master's thesis project, after all!)
But we live in a material world and love and talent isn't enough to make a great movie.
And it’s gotta be great, right?
Filmmaking is more expensive that most people realize. Although the crew have agreed to stay hungry and aren't getting paid, we still need money for:
Special camera equipment -crane,dolly tracks, special lens and filters and others - to create that special fairytale look and smooth movements in the film
Transportation for the crew and the equipment to and from set
Catering – you have to feed the crew!
Costumes, props and make-up
Visual effects/post-production
Sound design and music
Distribution for the film festivals- yes, that also costs money! Most of the festivals have fees and we are planning to send it out there to the world.
Our goal is to shoot for a week in January and a couple of days in February 2015. The national premiere in Estonia is planned for September 2015.
WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN!
In return for your donations, we have all kinds of perks and rewards, including being the first to see the finished film!
