Haptic Feedback vs. Vibrational Alerts
Technology commonly used today in smartphones and smartwatches can only deliver weak, vibrational alerts. Unlike that, Soundbrenner uses patented technology to create the most advanced vibrations possible today.

We're a team of entrepreneurial musicians and technologists from Berlin. We started this project with the dream of building smart technology that will help us all become better musicians. Being musicians ourselves, we know that making music involves a lot of hard work and practice. However, we also believe that leveraging the latest technology can help make that journey as exciting and efficient as possible! We've been working on this project for the past year and it has taken us all over the world. More than 100 musicians were part of the development process to help us get the details right. After graduating from the Hardware.co Accelerator in Berlin we set out with an unusually ambitious goal for crowdfunding: deliver an actually well-made product on time. To keep our promise we spent the past months in the lions den of hardware: Asia. Here we developed our product together with the help of Brinc's integrated platform and unparalleled access to manufacturing and distribution partners. As a result today we hold a fully functional product in our hands that was created with manufacturing already in mind. Unlike others before us, we'll have prepared and vetted every step of the production process even before our campaign has ended to ensure that we eliminate a majority of the wasted time most startups run into post-crowdfunding. We couldn’t be more confident to be able to keep our promise: you will receive an actually well-made product on time. However, please do remember that the product is not in mass production yet. Does it actually work to follow the rhythm with vibrations?
Vibrations dont equal vibrations. While it is very difficult to pick up the rhythm through the vibrations of a smartwatch or smartphone we have developed a vibration that offers the necessary amplitude and accuracy to be a great tool to pick up the beat.
Has this been tested with musicians?
Yes. We have been talking to a lot of musicians from day one. Many of the features you've seen are a result from the deep understanding of the musicians needs we got during product testing.
How long will the battery last?
The battery will approximately last 4-5 hours. If you practice with the device 30 minutes per day this will give you at least 1 week worth of battery life.
Do I need a smartphone to use the Soundbrenner Pulse?
No. The device can be turned on/off directly on the device. The rhythm can be adjusted with the BPM Wheel and the BPM Tap. However, for more in depth functionality a smartphone is necessary.
Does the device work with both iOS and Android phones?
Yes. We will offer a iOS and Android App from day one.
Is it waterproof?
The device was designed to be sweat proof but it shouldn't be submerged in water.
I live outside of the United States, can I pre-order a Soundbrenner Pulse?
Yes. Soundbrenner Pulse will ship worldwide in November. For US residents shipping is free. For people living outside of the US please add $20 for shipping.
Does the Soundbrenner Pulse come in my size?
Yes. The device comes with two different sized bands in which it can be inserted. We designed the bands to be suitable for everyone: Children, men and women.

Are you really the world’s first wearable device for musicians?

How does MIDI Sync work?
The MIDI sync works via a Soundbrenner desktop application for Mac and Windows, which would show up in any DAW as a MIDI device. If you choose to send a MIDI Clock signal to the app, it will be used to trigger vibrations on the device.
Latency will be compensated within the software, so that the synchronization is seamless. Your computer has to be Bluetooth Smart compatible (most modern notebooks and computers offer this functionality. Alternatively buy an inexpensive USB dongle to receive Bluetooth Smart compatibility)
