Short Summary

  • My name is Mark Nesheim and I've been a chef for the last 30 years and am current owner of Wings Airport Cafe. My specialties are Northern European and Midwestern American Cuisine. I'm a native of Brainerd Minnesota. I have skills in fine dining but my interest is in family style, fresh homemade foods and baked goods using quality and locally sourced ingredients.
  • At my current location, Wings Airport Cafe, our growth has exceeded the kitchen's potential and inspired the concept of Sourdough Sam's Cafe and Bakery. A family style restaurant that serves high quality homemade foods, fresh made from scratch baked goods, soups and sauces as well as gluten free and vegetarian options. A moderately price dining experience for the whole family to enjoy. We are a community oriented business and try to be involved in various organizations that benefit our friends and neighbors. 
  • The contributions we seek will help purchase a variety of equipment to be used for a bakery and food prep kitchen as well as various costs associated with start up. 

What We Need & What You Get

  • We are in need of $50,000.00 which will be used to purchase a bakery oven, an industrial mixer, additional ovens and grills, a proof box, bread pans, bread slicer, sheet pans, cooling racks, etc.
  • Your contribution will qualify you for some really nice perks. But you're also going to get high quality, made from scratch, moderately priced foods, breads and baked goods in a  restaurant atmosphere that you and your family can enjoy year round! Dine in or just grab a loaf of our homemade bread to enjoy at home! 
  • If our goal isn't met, any funds gained will be going to the project no matter the outcome of this campaign.

The Impact

  • We are offering fantastic, high quality, made from scratch cooking like grandma used to make along with homemade breads, gluten free breads and baked goods. 
  • This is my first campaign, but I'm also the owner of Wings Airport Cafe out of Brainerd, MN. I have been there 5 years and have tripled the sales in this location. 
  • At Wings Cafe, our slogan is "Making friends one plate at time" and we want to carry that into our new location with an expanded kitchen and bakery as we break bread together at Sourdough Sam's!

  • I've been in the business my whole working life and I've overcome all hurdles along the way. I have complete confidence in my abilities as a chef and as a business owner to see through to a successful opening and durable lasting business that you and your family will enjoy for years to come.
