Exact Control of quality

As a roaster,  sorting roasted beans is the only way to have an exact control of your coffee beans — Color sorting with the Pearl Mini will ensure that all your coffee beans meet the same level of quality consistently, giving you control of what you ship to your customer. 



Increase the quality of your coffee — During 9-months of testing at the roastery, we observed that even with exceptional coffee, there are usually quakers and burnt beans after the coffee is roasted.

Quakers have a taste ranging from popcorn to peanuts and fruity over-ferment to mold; while burnt beans taste smoky. Either of these easily cover over the original flavor of your beans.  You don’t want to offer this experience to your customer.

Resort those green beans you bought — It can be because you have a very special or competition lot you want perfect. Or you have found the green coffee you bought isn’t consistent and you need to resort your green beans and separate your green from defects.

 

Efficient Production Line

Torch Coffee 
Torch Coffee has been using the Pearl Mini for roasted coffee since 2017 and loved it so much that they took a controlling interest in Sōvda. Torch Coffee is a privately held company with operations in the USA, Hong-Kong, China, Thailand and Saudia Arabia. Torch provides education and training for all part of the coffee value chain in addition to roasting and selling specialty coffee. 

Samuel Gurel 
Samuel is the Co-Founder and CEO at Torch Coffee and Founder and head of Innovation of Sōvda. He has a passion and dream to develop world-class specialty coffee in China. He believes the primary means of doing this is through education and innovation. 

Marty Pollack 
Marty is the Co-Founder at Torch Coffee and leads the sales at Sōvda.  For him coffee is first and foremost about the community of people that are all working so passionately to find new and better ways to offer great coffee to the customer. 

Max Boegler 
Max is the head of Business Development at Sōvda. He believes if coffee consumers better understand how their beverage is produced they will strive for better quality, have a better experience and will ultimately create more value for the producers. 

Hector Riccardo Zepeda
Riccardo is the head of Marketing at Sōvda.  Growing up in Honduras, coffee has always been a big part of his life.  He believes that coffee is about connecting people from different places and backgrounds.
