Spencer Locke’s Market:
My name is Yolanda Rondon and I am the author of Spencer Locke’s Market. I wrote this novel because the origins of cryptocurrency and block chain technology are both a mystery and infamous. Rooted in the ideals of civil liberties and financial freedom, the cryptocurrency GoldCoin is for the people and by the people. The people are the driving mechanism behind GoldCoin, powering the economy without the traditional financial power structure. No banks, no institutions, and no government agencies.
My hope is that, in reading this book, you will discover the potential for crypto to transform people's lives across the world: the unbanked population, financially disenfranchised, and developing countries.
In this book, I hope to instill the same sort of passion and excitement that I have for the future of crypto. And then, ultimately, I want you to see this book as a tool to help you understand how to use the new crypto economy to benefit your professional development, small business, and humanitarian efforts.
In this book, you'll learn about cryptocurrency and block chain technology, the platform that cryptocurrency operates on. Explore the origins and ongoing development of cryptocurrency, and the fight for principle over profit. Current events have placed our privacy rights and financial independence at risk, and thus our core right to freedom and liberty. Crypto and block chain technology signals hope.
The world of crypto is not black and white. There will always be bad actors, but that does not mean we agree to allow banks, institutions, and government agencies to take the reins. We know what they are capable of, and it's not always good, but the impact of crypto is evident:
- Today, the most efficient way to get money to London is to buy an airplane ticket and physically take it there yourself. You can stream video from the space station but you cannot move your own money quickly and cheaply. You will pay the institutional financial power structure to make transfers, but it is your money, so why should you? Crypto and blockchain is revolutionizing how we control and even think about money. This is the new economy.
- Crypto and blockchain can address corruption in humanitarian aid by allowing donations to be directly funded to the recipients, suppliers of the materials and labor. There is no need for contractors, vendors, third party intermediaries. Thus, eliminating the number of hands in the pot that can skim some money off the top, so all aid goes to those who actually need it.
- The NY stock market has existed for over 200 years but many still do not understand how it works. Our children do not want to invest in stocks. The reality is that they are not interested or excluded because of the need of traditional access to wealth and connections being concentrated in the power of the few, the 1%. But our children know about cryptocurrency and are investing in it. The government purports that they must act to protect our children from fraud in a field self-regulated by unregulated whitepapers. But the future, our children, are beyond regulation.
You will love this book if you are curious about the origin of cryptocurrency and its ongoing developments, and the intersection of technology and civil liberties development.
Spencer Locke’s Market is a novel that speaks to the people with no conditions. It rises from the spirit of the youth, the activist, and the working class.
The Novel:
The novel explores the underlying ideals of cryptocurrency and block chain technology.
The introduction briefly describes how cryptocurrency and block chain technology works and provides context for the competing interests involved in the crypto economy. The introduction also spurs the reader to reflect on the impact of technology, privacy, and capitalism as they read. Through 13 chapters, the reader rides the ups and downs of the crypto market with the unknown and mysterious creator of GoldCoin, Moto.
Part 1 encompasses chapters 1 through 4. The reader meets the protagonist, Moto, whose personality sheds light on society's conflict with cryptocurrency and how these conflicts contradict democracy itself. We see the purity of a true marketplace for the people not controlled nor dependent upon big business, banks, or governments.
Part 2 contains Chapters 5 through 8. After growing with the characters in development of block chain, GoldCoin is now valued at nearly $20,000 per coin. Almost everyone is reveling in success but everything is not what it seems as the government is watching. Plus, the reader follows Moto as he faces his internal struggles and external pressures as crypto grows and transforms.
Part 3 concludes the story with chapters 9 through 13. The reader will learn about the abrupt collapse of GoldCoin. Everyone is panicking and the government capitalizes in the panic. Scandal dominates the news just as block chain technology is being used to deliver development aid to Ghana.

About the Author:
Yolanda dedicates her life to protecting civil rights and civil liberties. A privacy and anti-profiling legal advocate, she began her legal career in DC working for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. A national civil rights organization, where she defended communities of color, immigrants, & religious minorities. Yolanda earned her National Security LLM at Georgetown University Law Center where she studied cryptocurrency regulation & J.D. at Case Western University School of Law.
Yolanda seeks to explore an exciting, yet to many, foreign technological innovation that created waves throughout the financial sector. The increased government interest to regulate and legislate in the crypto sphere demonstrates a need to balance privacy and civil liberties interests at stake.
Yolanda has always had a distinct voice that her loved ones jokingly teased her about. This followed her into law school where a law professor told Yolanda that she could not be a lawyer because of her voice. Within 2 years of passing the New York bar, Yolanda filed 2 amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Thanks again,
