Short Summary
My name is Gabriella Preciado and I am the writer and director for Split the Difference. I have years of set experience and I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science at San Diego State University in Television, Film and New Media with an Emphasis in Production. I’ve previously directed, worked in cinematography, assisted in editing and DIT for feature length films as well as led social media teams.
This campaign is in support of my first original film, Split the Difference. The story follows an ambitious journalist struggling to get a job who comes home only to find she’s faced with an impending eviction and must find common ground with her equable girlfriend who struggles with a physically-limiting degenerative illness.
This film is a passion project that touches on themes of compromise, mental health, living with a disability and miscommunication. It’s one of many films I aim to create that normalize LGBTQ+ and interracial relationships as well as furthering disability awareness within a relatable story that humanizes marginalized populations. Contributors will assist in making this vision of mine a reality, allowing our cast and crew more time to focus on making this film the best it can be.
