Short Summary
Understanding the world can be done in many ways. Countless disciplines of art and thought can carve a path through our world. Like many others, film as a medium can help us understand the complexities of life and how we navigate along with the others around us. Guilt, regret, grief, and facing our own mortality are some topics that always seem to float around in my mind. And in making this film I hope to connect with these ugly feelings a little more, understand them. Overcome them. The primal setting of this film is not only for visual appeal. It separates us from the overwhelming modern world we live in and plants us in one that may be simpler but still faces all the same emotional intricacies of today. Prehistoric people might as well seem like animals to us. Separated by countless years of development, yet through this time I feel it's safe to say no new emotions have been discovered since then. The pain was still painful, and the feeling still felt just as strong as they do today as they did then. If there is a slight chance I can make a connection between the viewer and the hero of our story, then just maybe that connection can be made with those who need it most today.
What We Need & What You Get
Our goal of 10,000 dollars will be utilized toward fore-filling the film's full potential.
The budget will be broken down into eight key parts to complete this film.
- Production Design
- Lodging for our talent and crew
- Camera/Grip and Electric Equipment
- Location's compensation
- Talent's compensation
- Transportation for our Crew
- Catering for our Cast and Crew
- Uhaul Expenses
The majority of our budget will be allocated toward our Production Design team and lodging. The production design involved in this project is minimal but we want to make the world as authentic as possible. We plan on doing this by capturing the authenticity of the Paleolithic age through our costumes, props, and set design. The use of animal pelts, stone tools, and other authentic props will bring this world to life. It will certainly add to the location we are shooting at as that has a rich environment that encapsulates that era.
The Perks we have in this campaign include:
- A sticker of our Film's logo = $5
- A Tshirt with our Film's logo = $10
- Signed Screenplay of Cast and Crew = $25
- Signed Poster of Cast and Crew = $35
- Props from set = $75
- An Associate Producer credit = $150
- Small costume pelt = $200
- Large Costume pelt = $300
If our goal is not met we will still utilize the money raised towards our film in the same capacity. Divided it all accordingly throughout our teams , crew, and cast.
The Impact
Hello, my name is Kade Allen. I am the director of my thesis film STONE. First off, thank you for clicking on the page and taking a look around. My team and I are very proud of this project and know it could be bigger than we ever imagined. We have to treat STONE right. And living the stereotypical student lifestyle of ramen and frozen foods, we realize it can’t be done alone. So we are reaching out to our community, whether it's close friends and family, or complete strangers. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the far-off world of filmmaking, and the shared dream of this film's success. Donations would ensure every aspect of the film's creation is covered, from meals and lodging for the cast and crew to being able to create the look and feel of the world 12,000 years ago and use industry-grade technology for your viewing pleasure. It might be pocket change, simply sharing it for more eyes to see, or just reading this. Everything helps. This film is a gift from me to you, I can’t wait for you to see it. Thank you.
