The ride of your life starts now
Stop Requested is a metaphysical suspense thriller. Jess has problems. Haunted by her past and sensitivity to the spiritual realm that she attempts to silence with prescription drugs, she is paralyzed by the mere thought of human contact. Enter Benjamin, an intense, unusual individual who invades Jess's life with the claim that he is there to help her help herself, and he won't leave until she does. As Jess experiences more and more intense manifestations of her spiritual gifts (who is singing a hymn in her shower at 3:33 a.m.?) we begin to realize that her fate places her squarely in the middle of an age old debate between Order and Chaos, and that the battle for souls must play itself out in the lives of seemingly ordinary people.
How these funds will be used
We’ve developed a lean, but practical budget for our film. Our total budget is $20,000. Our above-the-line costs (pre-production and production) will run us $13,000. Our below-the-line costs (post-production) will run $7,000. We will run a second campaign for post production costs, but we'd love to make the entire $20,000 goal from this campaign.
The funds will be used for four days of shooting; funds will cover pre and post production. We’ll use the funds for camera, lighting and equipment rentals, fees for location shoots, catering, post production (editing, studio, music, sound), and small stipends for our cast and crew. We also have a small marketing budget and a strategic marketing plan to promote our film. Our goal is a strong return on investment for our crew, cast, supporters and the general public.
The result
We believe in getting as much bang for our buck as possible. That's why everything we create serves more than one purpose. Stop Requested is no different. We'll be submitting it as a short to film festivals, using a Director's Cut as a calling card to pitch the larger feature to producers and investors, and incorporating the footage we'll shoot in May into the feature film. Our concept and storyline are robust and flexible. We can glean a feature and several sequels, or morph it into a TV pilot and show. We're producing it in such a way that we also have the flexibility of turning it into new media for online entertainment.
