Update:
We are so excited - we are making "Storyville" into a feature. We have had interest from people to tell this, not as a concept pilot but as a feature film! Updated video but telling the story of these women stay the same. Thank you for your support!
Storyville, New Orleans
Little is know about this place in New Orleans history, the public library’s files of newspapers and periodicals from that time were vandalized, with countless issues carefully clipped of any mention of “Storyville”. The relevant pages on real estate, with the names of the Madams that owned property, were ripped out. History has tried to erase their lives and existence but we don't want that to happen::
The producing team that brought you "Riley Parra" and "Season of Love" join to produce the concept pilot "Storyville".
We were so lucky that some of the powerful women of Star Trek decided to join us in telling the story of these powerful ladies.
If you support this project you are supporting: female filmmakers, stories with powerful female leads and the story of early female entrepreneurs, when land couldn't be owned by women and jobs were few and poorly paid these ladies bucked the system and broke all the rules.
If we hit our goal we will be able to go into production in late October.

What We Need & What You Get
Our story takes place in the early 1900s and because of that our budget is larger than usual for our team. All of the funds raised will go directly into production and post-production. Period projects tend to cost more.
Our location budget is large because we need period locations that match the 1917s. We were able to find locations but they are more expensive than modern homes.
We are so lucky that we have an amazing costume designer who is custom-making our period costumes. We are going to match to the best of our budget ability that era.
We will also need to source footage that looks like New Orleans 1900s and that will also cost production funds that we wouldn't normally need.

EJ Bellocq from Storyville
In Memory Of...
In 2018 the writer of "Storyville" Mariah Gretchen brought it to Christin and Kitty. The script was rich with strong female characters who were interesting and 3 dimensional. We knew immediately this was something we had to have in the world. We had to push the project back due to schedules but the commitment was still there.
In May we were contacted by Mariah's wife, Jennifer, to let us know that she had passed away. Her leukemia had returned and she died suddenly. This was one of the projects that Mariah wanted to make sure continued after she was gone and we were so lucky that Jennifer has come on board as a consulting producer. We were devastated by this news and our commitment to make it in her memory was even stronger.
We make this in honor of Mariah.
The Impact
This will be the first scripted project outside of the Trek world that will bring together these women. We will take them out of the future genre of Star Trek and will move them into the past in this historical fiction pilot.
We believe that this is the most perfect time for this story to be told and these women are the perfect actresses to bring their story to life.
Producers Kitty Swink, Ashley Arnold, Danielle Jablonski and Christin Baker have a track record of bringing together a solid production team to make high-quality content. Content that has received numerous awards including Emmy nominations.
