Our Story
My Mission is to bring performances that my audience can enjoy. I have always been able to make people laugh and to bring that to life with my writing, imagination, creativity and a great cast I know I can achieve anything. I started writing in grammar school when I wrote my very first play in the 8th grade. I have been given a gift and know now it is my time to unfold it and share it with the world. My vision is way beyond just stage plays, I am writing my first novel and working in film and television. I would like for my audience to laugh more than cry. The world today is filled with so much violence and hate. My mission is not to remind my audience of death, hurt, pain and unhappy situations, but to make them remember what it was like to be happy and what made them smile. It is always good to focus on ways to address how to stop gun violence, to help our youth, poverty, teen pregnancy, drugs and gangs. I have addressed that through my productions. Sometimes we need our minds to be at ease and I deliver the message that GOD wants me to deliver. Yet and still, my message will be about everyday living with a few heart-felt sadness and tears. But more LAUGHTER to bring you back for more.
"SUGAR DADDY"......55 year old Pete (old man Lofton) wants to get his groove back and he finds three sexy young ladies who are all about the "Benjamins" (Vanilla, Chocolate' and Lexi) that makes him feel like the player that he think he is. His best friend Otis disagrees with his lifestyle and tells him he needs to date women his own age. Pete blows him off and not knowing Otis has a crush on Bianca, gives him the okay to date her. When Bianca runs to Otis for help to rekindle the fire with Pete, she is in store for a big surprise. Pete's nosy roommate Isabelle who loves gossip, is a comical southern woman who gives advice to help Bianca get Pete back, but has a thing for him too. Old man Lofton gets a slap from reality and realizes that Bianca is the right one for him, but when he tries to make things right will he get Bianca back or will it be to late?
The Impact
It will show others that they can build up the courage to pursue their dreams. We all know that in this lifetime, everything cost money. The problem is, there are so many talented people that don't have the finances to even start a production. A lot of us out here know what it's like when you are passionate about your craft and you have family and friends that don't want to support you. Most of them tell you, you are wasting your time and to stop dreaming. Well I have GOD and two young ladies that look up to me each and everyday. My daughters, Ketajia and Tenarra and also my husband Terrance Brown. They believe in me 100%. Just to have them behind me is enough to believe in myself. We all can have people that are truly in the business for their love of the arts, but I like to involve them in something and show them why their hard work, talent and dedication pays off. That shows more appreciation than just a handshake and a thank you.
What We Need & What You Get
I am looking to raise $3000. This is to help pay for my set design (materials to build the set and furniture), light, sound (mics), audio and video equipment. All the money that I am trying to raise is going towards my production. In hopes that my tickets sell the way that I plan, that will cover everything else. Even if I don't make a profit, it will be a blessing to have successfully put my production on stage. Upon raising my funds, my perks are a good way to show my contributors that I am thankful for their support and that I am giving them a gift also in return. I will gladly show my appreciation.
