Candy Shop Show Australia are a group of LOCAL BRISBANE ARTISTS committed to producing high-quality dance cabaret works which aim to widen the audience for dance-based cabaret productions in Queensland, as well as provide opportunities for local artists.
We love our city and we love our artists, and therefore we want to create paid employment opportunities for our very talented team! In Brisbane this can be tough, so we need your help to keep producing work!

Sugar, Sugar! is the sequel to The Jazz Age Dance Cabaret and is a fun, light-hearted music and dance journey through the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Miss Peppermint Twist, Miss Skittle, Miss Starburst and Miss
Everlasting Gobstopper are your luscious-leggy-lolly-hosts on a marvellous
musical journey through the retro era! Featuring fabulous dance numbers,
stunning vocals and spectacular costumes Sugar, Sugar! is a cheeky fix guaranteed to satisfy any sweet
tooth!
Presenting even a small show is very expensive for a small independent company and costs such as performer fees, APRA fees, costuming, music, rehearsal room hire, marketing and general producing costs can be crippling. We don't want to be greedy and we understand limitations in disposable income in this day and age so we want all proceeds from this campaign to go STRAIGHT TO THE ARTISTS! We hope our ticket sales can cover the boring expenses associated with producing a work and this is where we need your help!
We believe in artists being PROPERLY PAID for their talent, time and extraordinary energy - please help us achieve our funding goals!
Our Team
Jenny Usher - Director/Choreographer/Performer/Producer
Anna Welch, Maureen Bowra & Natalie Renouf - Performers (additional choreography)
Lucy Kelland - Stage Manager
What We Need
We aim to raise $2000 to provide our hard-working and dedicated team with a contribution fee for rehearsals and performances.
We want to keep the industry in Queensland alive for dance and cabaret artists!
