Short Summary
We are looking to raise money for promotion towards the movie we filmed and finished. The film is a grimy crime comedy about two hit men who discover their stories crossed as children when they meet for an antic filled first time in a hotel suite the night before they are hired to do a job together.
- We are a couple of film makers (Austin Galante, Doug Montoya, Matthew Kenner, Genia Dulot, and Mitch Muenster), who have formed a team to produce an indie film.
- We have spent a lot of time energy and money to make this film happen and we don't want it to just sit in the far corners of the internet never to be seen. So we are reaching out to get funding to help to promote this film now that it is finished.
- With your help we hope to reach a wider audience with our project.
- Suite Killing Machines is already a semi finalist in the New York Cinematography awards.
- Got an interview on ABC News for the film, and other various interviews about the film.
A lot of blood sweat and tears have gone into every aspect of making this film, but we can only do so much without extra funding.
What We Need & What You Get
Break it down for folks in more detail:
- We are trying to raise $6,000 to promote this film.
- People who donate will get a free digital copy of the film along with other perks. Such as private premiere viewing with the actors and director, have lunch with the cast, signed posters, signed wardrobe from the movie, personalized video thank you's from the actors, digital copy of the sound track, Zoom call with the cast, and much more.
- Any funding raised will go towards promoting the film, film premiere and post production costs.
The Impact
Any Contributions to our campaign will make a huge difference for us. We have funded the first part; which is getting the film actually shot. Now we need help getting it out to the world with a promotional budget. We have already submitted to 40 film festivals. But...we want to hire a publicist, have a premiere, and pay for social media ads to get some buzz for the film.
- Art is subjective but we believe we not only have some insightful and important social issues in this film, but we dish them out with a spoonful of humor. Almost everybody can use an extra laugh; except for somebody who just broke a rib and maybe if you're holding a sleeping baby: but other than that... laughs good.
Austin Galante has produced, shot, and directed 20 music videos. He has acted in dozens of indie and big budget films, and commercials, such as Eli Stone, Rihanna’s Disturbia, Old Mutual insurance commercials, NBC's Hero's commercial, Bones, Bobble the Clown, Fathoms Deep and many others.
Matthew Kenner has acted in numerous films and shorts and produced several shorts of his own.
Douglas Montoya has produced several shorts, acting in several productions, and done sound for dozens of films.
- This is the first full length film we have produced but we already have ideas for at least 3 more and plan to start right into the next one as soon as this one is put out, and the press run slows down.
Risks & Challenges
There are no promises for success, but we have put our all into this with the money and time we had to make it happen. Is the movie perfect, no. We know that. But we managed to make something that is still pretty entertaining; once you get to the shower scene with Doug.
This Project was self funded so we had many time constraints and budget constraints, but we still managed to pull of the nearly impossible of shooting this entire film in 3 days. The actress in the film flew in to Madison from L.A.; for one day. So we had to get 16 pages of lines done in the one day she was here. There were cost and time constraints for location; as hotel suites aren't exactly cheap.
- Austin spend 2 months planning for this shoot to try and cover any problems that might arise. His diligence, dedication and problem solving skills made it possible to pull this film off. Doug had a roster of talent to pull from so that we could cover the bases for actors. Mitch came through with quality set sound recordings so the film sounds good.
Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just can't contribute, but that doesn't mean you can't help:
- Even if you can contribute money.... sharing links, telling your friends who write for blogs, or press will help us greatly. If you can introduce us to people who can help write about or interview us about the project that is just as good as money. We want to get the word out about the film so post a link to the film on your Facebook, make a Tik Tok, talking about the film. Or post our film poster on your Instagram. Any way you have to help us get the word out is magical.
- Please use the Indiegogo share tools to help get the word out about the film. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
