The Campaign:
Children with life-threatening illnesses suffer a routine which constantly reminds them of the things they are unable to do. Home - Hospital - Chemo treatment - and back home again. They are usually unable to take part in social activities or go to school, and those with siblings will have to watch their brothers and sisters playing, while being unable to join in.
This pantomime offers a break from their routine - not only entertaining them and allowing them to play with others their own age undergoing a similar experience, but also taking their mind off the illness for a few hours, and giving them a great memory to take home.
The intended outcome of this campaign is to promote a leisure activity that helps ill children and their families by encouraging social inclusion and breaking down the barriers which make them feel isolated from the world.
Our Funding Goal:
We are asking for your support to raise £3000 to cover the cost of the performers, theater hire, props and accessories, ticket + refreshment costs and coach hire to transport the children and their families to and from the venue.
If we are unable to raise the full amount of money, then we will ask the families of the children to provide their own lunches or make a contribution to the cost of the event.
In the happy event that we raise more than the £3000 the remaining money will go on extra events on the day itself, and funding towards a Goody-bag for each child.
About Us:
Liesel Angel Trust is a registered charity dedicated to supporting children with cancer or other life threatening illnesses and their families.
We were founded in March 2011 by Lovia Ofori-Agyemang and Francis Appiah-Boakye, in the name of their only daughter Liesel Angel who survived Neuroblastoma stage IV childhood cancer.
Unfortunately, a few months later, Liesel Angel relapsed and died of the disease in February 2012 aged three. The charity carried on under Liesel Angel’s name not only to keep her memory alive but most importantly to support families who may undergo a similar misfortune of dealing with childhood cancer.
Liesel Angel Trust is a registered charity in England and Wales (1152076) with a history of successful and ongoing projects at Hillingdon hospital children's unit - Peter Pan Ward - and elsewhere. For example last year we ran a successful parent support group sponsored by Macmillan Cancer support.
The only obstacle standing between us and our goal is raising the funds to hold this children's pantomime and put a smile back on their faces.
Helping in other ways:
We are asking for your generous support in raising this money, however if you are unable to make a monetary contribution towards this projects on this occasion but still want to help out then we would ask you to get involved in our social media campaign: Visit our website, Find us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter
@Liesel_Angel, and tell your family and friends about us and our campaign.
A big thanks from everyone on the team for reading this far,
Liesel Angel Trust
