Hey, everyone! My name is Tim Hanson, here to tell you about my feature-length action/comedy film SUPER FREAKS! Super Freaks follows Henry, a farmer who has his arms torn off in a gruesome workplace accident; only to be transformed and super sized by a double-arm transplant from a dead pro wrestler. When Henry is later assaulted in the street, he teams up with his roommate, Ross, to mete out savage vigilante justice upon any armed robber or litterbug they come across.  Their skills will be put to the ultimate test in helping Henry's girlfriend (Violet) rescue her brother from the mob.

I wrote Super Freaks about 10 years ago, back when I owned and operated the last video rental store in Minneapolis. It's been a passion project ever since... combining a personal love of comic book heroes, bone-crunching bloody action, and slapstick comedy. All the while showcasing actors and characters not typical to most mainstream films. I describe it as the classic movie FREAKS meets the modern cult classic KICK-ASS but with more laughs and a better romantic subplot.

With me from the start has been my co-director Todd Wardrope, a fellow writer, director and movie nerd. Making independent films for almost two decades, Todd has the experience and solid crew network we need to bring this production home. Beginning the process with a test short in 2019, we followed up with the more ambitious, extended teaser in the summer of 2022, for which we assembled the dream cast!

The previous two shorts were self-funded but to reach the next level, we're asking for your help and support. We’ve set an all-or-nothing Fixed Goal of raising $50,000, this being the minimum we need for a successful shoot. When we hopefully reach that total, we can add stretch goals to push the number even higher! This will go toward paying actor and crew salaries, transportation of out of town actors, lodging, special effects, stunts, set design, costuming, make-up, equipment rental and everything else that goes into making movies. (Whew! We’re going to blow through that 50K really fast!)  But seriously, we already have many assets in place along with a budget plan; however, to hire Walter Welsh of Welsh Creations to custom build some rad muscle arms (and hands) for our hero... we need you!
