Support an art student from Japan
Hi, my name is Rin. I am just turning to 20 this year. I've been in USA for four years and pursuing my dream in Palomar college in San Marcos, CA. Being an international student is facing the fact that we are required to take at least 12 units each semester and each unit costs $250. This means I will need to pay at least $3000 for a semester, I went to Columbus College of Art and Design (OH)in a year of 2013-2014 to continue my art education. Gladly I received half scholarships there , yet the tuition was still over my budged so I ended up with transferring to this community college(affordable). I am majoring painting in art.
As one of my academic achievements, I got into Raw-artists and had an art show at House of Blues in San Diego downtown in 2014 winter. It was very memorable and surprising to me because there are a lot of local artists and people who is discovering young artists like me. I am working on my next big show in Phoenix.
Sometimes life gets hard when you have bad luck, we all know that. All of my art supplies which I shipped from Ohio was lost by USPS. It worth more than $700 and again, I had to buy all again. Then a couple months ago, somebody stole my art supplies on the street. It sounds so dramatic but especially for a poor artist it's just a shocking thing.
My parents are also artists and due to their financial reasons they won't be able to support me next year. I really want to stay in United State and pursue my dream. Since I am stated as F-1 visa student, I am not allowed to work off campus either.
