On August 31, 2015, we will be organizing the
second edition of A Clean Community Program
to honor the 15 Cleanest Communities of the 116 that entered the competition
since February this year. “A Clean Community Program” which is in its second
edition is Winner of the 2015 2degrees
Champions Awards (UK) in the Social Value category.
The event will take place at the CamCCUL Hall in Nkambe
under the patronage of the Senior Divisional Officer for Donga Mantung Division
and will also mark the 9th anniversary of The Eye Newspaper which
will be greased by the 2015 National Awards of Excellence to societal role
models. We also intend to invite over 100 traditional rulers (representing the
various communities, the administrators and 15 media organs (print audiovisual
and online). Our guests (estimated at about 350) at this event will be treated to
a heart-warming traditional music before being introduced the 2015 laureates.
Last year, we targeted only 34 communities of Donga Mantung Division, and given
the impact of the program, we have included all villages of Donga Mantung, Bui
and Ngoketunjia Divisions of the North West Region of Cameroon. And because of supporters like you, we will continue to change
lives in communities. In fact, every little support we receive is a great leap
to this program that seeks to promote hygiene, sanitation and a sound
environment.
No amount of assistance is too small,
any support from you will go a long way to enable us acquire the material that
will be handed to winners on that day. Don’t they say that little drops of
water make an ocean? We need 50 wheelbarrows, 100 cutlasses, 100 spades, 100
rakes and 100 hoes. In fact, any amount of assistance
would be greatly appreciated; (donating a wheelbarrow, hoe, cutlass, spade or a
rake) will also be highly appreciated.
Being nominated and finally shortlisted for 2degrees Champions Awards in UK has enabled the program to have a wider scope. Your Donation will Make us Change Lives in Communities (A dollar, Wheelbarrow, hoe, spade or cutlass) will sustain our action. Thanks for supporting this Cause

What did we do
Given that the idea was part of a social communication strategy and sensitization strategy, we first toured the communities to announce the competition, carried out radio talk shows and then created a coordination unit to oversee the clean up campaign in villages (communities), and the planting of trees. When the results announced and winners were handed basic equipment (wheelbarrows, spades, cutlasses, hoes) to continue to keep their communities clean. The traditional rulers representing the various villages also received awards at a fun-filled National Award of Excellence by The Eye Newspaper in Nkambe. This year the event takes place on August 30, 2015
We will make sure that the list of donors will be posted on all the gadgets during the fun-filled event. No amount of donation is small, your donation to this Cause will go a long way to change lives in our communities. Thanks for your contributions to this cause.
