Supporting the Taylor-Byrne Family
My name is Maddy Thompson and I am a student currently producing a short documentary based around the Taylor-Byrne family. This family is like any other big family of seven, however they have one extra challenge to face. Four out of the five children are autistic.
However, Rella, the mother, and Matt, the father, do not let this stop them. They are one of the most wonderful and inexplicably inspiring families I have ever met.
Elise, the youngest, is incredibly friendly and loves to dance anywhere and everywhere, Archie is a little explorer and loves to try out new things, Scarlett is bubbly and loves meeting new people, Ava is kind and caring and loves to look after her younger siblings, and Harry, the eldest, is wonderfully smart and always has something to say.
Although this family unit is strong, government funding for early intervention of autism cuts off at the age of seven. This has already applied to Scarlett and Harry with Archie and Elise having to face this issue soon. Rella and Matt work full time as teachers, however they will struggle to afford all of the these crucial therapies once the funding cuts apply to all of the children.
This is where you come in. What we are asking is support for the making of our documentary 'All Sides of the Spectrum' in order to raise awareness of the importance of early intervention therapy for children with autism - especially girls, as well as to support the Taylor-Byrne family. We will be taking no profit for the film, only wishing to cover costs of production (estimated to be around $400 AUD) and the rest will go to the family.
One behalf of the 'All Sides of the Spectrum' crew, as well as the Taylor-Byrne's we thank you for your generous donation.
