WHO
My name is Lisa Ramey. I'm a recording artist who has been perfecting her craft and understanding her voice for 25 years (don't do math.) I cut my teeth in the industry in musical theater, performing at The Muny in St. Louis (it's the nation's largest outdoor theater). In my early 20s, I moved to New York City and played around on stages in midtown, but really found my stride when I gave up musical theater to pursue becoming a full time recording artist and performer. Since then, I've toured Europe fronting a wildly popular band, I've travelled the world singing with Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA, I made the playoffs of NBC's The Voice, having been mentored by EGOT-winner John Legend on his first season. I've played Joe's Pub at The Public, played the main stage of an Atlantic City Boardwalk festival sponsored by DO|AC, a huge Canadian amphitheater, and just recently, headlined along with Ms. Lauryn Hill at the inaugural Mothers Ball in New York City.
I'm thrilled to announce my first full length album - SURRENDER - will drop March 27th, 2020. This album is the product of almost every dollar of my earned money, my blood, sweat and tears, along with some incredibly talented musicians accompanying my ever-faithful producer/music genius.
WHAT
The only thing that is better than a debut album, is a debut album with music video releases for each single - and I have 3 singles, so far. This campaign will help me raise for two of them (the third I've already funded, myself!)
Music is another form of storytelling, and to accompany the visual nature of the medium, I have hired two award-winning directors to shoot the two videos for which this raise exists. These videos will visually tell the story of each song in a narrative fashion. They'll feel like mini-movies, and wow, will they be amazing, with your help.
My ask is $20K, but this is a flexible campaign, because truly, every dollar will help. My perks are unique and personal - I recently trademarked my face as a pineapple as my official brand logo - before it gets splashed far-and-wide, you'll be able to take home some collectable merch for helping with this raise.
WHERE
I have been developing a strong network of online influencers and VIPs in the music industry, and have been retweeted and/or mentioned by award-winning musicians, producers, actors, and politicians, so I know that my videos will get traction and have reach. I don't have the machine that goes along with a label, but I've been pounding the pavement for years and I'm not about to stop, now.
WHEN
Music is hard. Creating music is harder. Creating music that become hits is nearly impossible, but I have never said no to a challenge, and I have never failed once I've committed to an endeavor.
