Combining quality, design and affordability, we have created a timepiece that stands out from the rest. Unsatisfied with the current watch market, DASHCHEN was created to bridge the gap between low-end affordable watches and luxury watches by creating a timepiece that draws on only desirable features from both ends of the watch spectrum.  

In August 2017, we exhibited at the Sydney International Jewellery Fair and with our unique timepieces, we were able to capture the attention of Jeweller (Australia and New Zealand's number 1 jewellery magazine) who featured us multiple times in their August issue. We also entered our timepieces into the Australian Jewellery Design Awards (JDA).

We became finalists in our category which was men's accessories. Our time at the Sydney International Jewellery Fair gave us an insight into the current watch market and the opportunity to speak to many watch designers who were shocked to hear about the prices of our timepieces.

You may be wondering why we did not launch in 2017 and waited until July in 2018 to launch. Well here is our explanation. At the end of 2017, we actually flew from Sydney, Australia all the way to Shenzhen, China to visit our watch manufacturer. During the visit, we discussed the complications of our design and some solutions to fix some of our flaws in the final product.

For example, when manufacturing the OCTOGRAPH, the dial of the watch had to perfectly fit into the case while also allowing all 6 hands to move freely. Because of the shape of the dial, the hands had to be redesigned and repositioned to allow for free movement on the dial while also maintaining a reasonable length to be able to tell the time. 

Our trip allowed us to meet our manufacturer face-to-face to establish a closer business relationship for the future and also allowed for effective communication. The end result is that we have a product that is up to our high standards despite the unique design, no quality or practicality of the watch is comprised. So we have taken all this time for you to enjoy yours.

July-August: Indiegogo project is live and running

August - October: Order is placed with our manufacturer and all timepieces are expected to be completed by the end of October.

November: We ship out your orders and you can expect it to arrive by the end of November.

How does Indiegogo work?

Indiegogo is a crowdfunding platform, so it's different from a normal webshop. On Indiegogo, creators like us share our projects with the community to raise funds to bring the project to life.

In this case, we are sharing our new watch collection with you. We have refined the prototypes for all of our watches and our suppliers are ready to go to production. However, our suppliers all have minimum order requirements, so we need to gather enough volume to place our order. That's why we're here. 

By contributing to our project, you can get our new watches at a significant discount off of the future expected retail price. That discount is to thank you for helping us take the watches to production and for your patience as we complete our first production run.

Where do you ship?

We ship our timepieces everywhere! However, please check with your own customs/border security for any restrictions.

What's the cost of shipping? How about taxes and duties?

We are not responsible for any taxes/duty fees that may be applied so please check with the appropriate source for more information. From our research, most countries do not require taxes/duties for our product.

Can I interchange straps between the watches in this collection?

What's the warranty on the watches?

All watches are covered by a one-year international manufacturers warranty.  The warranty does not cover general wear, damage caused by accident, misuse, neglect or failed repair attempts. For more information please visit dashchen.com or email us at info@dashchen.com.

Limitations

There are some minor limitations that may be involved. The most important is shipping. Our estimated shipping time is when you can expect your timepiece to arrive by. Please keep in mind that the postal service may experience delays and shipping times may vary depending on your location so please allow for a few days extra. 

Manufacturing may be delayed again with postal services as some of our watch components comes from other countries such as Switzerland which means that any delays will affect the whole process. Also, our manufacturer may suffer difficulties whether with machinery or technical difficualties so please be patient with us if such issues are to arise.

We aim to be as transparent as possible so we will keep you updated if anything is to happen, however, we hope that this journey is as smooth as possible. So fingers crossed!
