The Details
We are trying to raise funds to produce the pilot episode of an original sitcom written by Al-don Schraeder and Kristen Korkowski. The story follows a group of friends that play Dungeons and Dragons together and the enticing pull of escape to a fantasy world. We are hoping to shoot the episode over five days in April of 2023.
We are hoping to raise $8,000 to make this film. This will help us hire crew, feed our cast, and purchase equipment and costume items. We want to make the show available for all to watch but we will be providing additional exclusive content to our donors. We are committed to producing this project even if we don't reach our entire goal, but it will take a lot longer to make and the quality will suffer without the funding.
This project will employ North Carolina filmmakers, actors, and artists and allow them the opportunity to work collaboratively on an independent film. Our cast is made up of experienced actors and comedians from the Idiot Box improv team and our director (Kristen Korkowski) and cinematographer (Lindsay Thompson) have produced several sketches and short film projects together with the Sundays at Seven sketch comedy troupe and for the 48 Film Project in Greensboro, NC.
There are a lot of challenges that we face to get this thing off the ground. Scheduling, finding the perfect locations, and navigating the copyright laws surrounding a licensed property are just a few of them. But we are planning to devote a lot of time and energy into the pre-production process and have an amazing team of creatives to help with problem solving.
We understand that not everyone has extra cash to donate to creative projects right now, but you can also support us by sharing this campaign, following Table Chatter on social media, and just making some noise about this project in general.
