Welcome to the future
Hello! My name is Martin, and I'm an electronics engineer, DIY enthusiast and also a passionate airsoft player based in Slovakia.
Tachyon originally started as my hobby project, merging my passions for airsoft and electronics. However, after an amazing amount of support through reddit and social media, I decided to turn it into a full commercial project.
The idea of Tachyon is to bring the futuristic experience from many sci-fi games into reality. And with an affordable price. Tachyon mounts seamlessly on any 21mm picatinny rail and provides you with an array of useful logistical functions.
Tachyon is almost ready for deployment. However, I first need help to fund the initial production run. I've already made this idea real. Now help me bring it to you!
What does Tachyon do

Ammo counter
The core of the system is the ammo counter. Displayed both as a big number and a visual progress bar, Tachyon keeps you informed about your current ammunition status. With a possibility to save up to 6 quickly changeable presets for any capacity ranging from 1 to 999 Tachyon will surely match any magazine(s) you regularly use. Additionally, The ammo counter changes color depending on the magazine percentage.
Battery monitor
With Tachyon, you can monitor the charge level of your gun's battery in real time. Wide settings range for numerous battery types and voltages again ensure compatibility with your weapon.
Do you use a gas blowback rifle? No problem, Tachyon can also be powered by an external battery.
Real time clock
Coordinate your tactical maneuvers with ease through the on-board high-precision digital clock. With proper calibration, the clock's accuracy falls below 1 ppm, which equals to a drift of less than 30 seconds per year.
Settings for everything
Tachyon lets you customize almost everything through simple on-board settings. This even includes custom coloring schemes. Make your Tachyon look like your favorite sci-fi shooter game!

Laser printed polymer enclosure
The whole unit is housed inside a SLS-3D-printed durable Nylon enclosure which attaches to any picatinny accesory rail, and can also serve as a sight raiser.

USB Interface
You can link your tachyon with your computer through the integrated microUSB interface with ease, to perform maintenance, firmware updates or even custom programming!
Expansion bus
Tachyon features a simple I2C expansion bus. This makes it possible to add plug-in expansion boards to your device and expand the range of features it offers. I currenly have plans for a magnetic compass module, or even GPS support!
Open source
As a DIY enthusiast, I know how awesome adding your own features to your device can be. That is why the whole Arduino-compatible firmware of Tachyon is open source. If you know how to program an Arduino, you will be able to modify everything about how your device works!

Weapon compatibility
Tachyon is compatible with any airsoft weapon with a picatinny (RIS/RAS) rail.
The infrared shot sensor attaches at the end of the barrel, replacing flashireds or other barrel attachments. A thread is not required.
Enclosure dimensions: 37x140x41 mm
Sensor mounting diameter: 14 mm ± 2mm adjustment
Why you should support this project
If you are a fan of airsoft and you like the idea behind Tachyon, I encourage you to support this project and help me finish what I started.
Since the money gained with this campaign will be used to fund the initial factory production run, I recommend getting the "Complete Kit" perk, which will make you one of the very first 24 people to get their hands on Tachyon V1.
If you are a DIY enthusiast and want to save money, I recommend taking a look at the "Minimal kit" perk, which will get you the same kit as the "Complete kit" perk, but excluding the laser printed enclosure. This reduces cost greatly, but you will have to create your own encosure yourself. If you have access to a 3D printer however, this shouldn't be a problem!
