We are a group of parents from Taft School in Lockport, Illinois. Our school, like many others, is dealing with funding decreases as well as facing the inevitable increasing costs just to operate our school. Because of this we have had to make significant cuts to our budget and one of those cuts directly affected our teaching staff. We as a school are no longer able to fund the teachers with money to purchase items to enhance the curriculum and fill basic classroom needs. This fundraiser will make a HUGE difference for our K-8th grade students at Taft.
What We Need
We are trying to raise $3200 to be shared among our teachers. These funds will be used for things like school supplies, materials for Science/Math/Language Arts projects, and, heck, even owl pellets for our 4th graders to dissect!!
The Impact
These may seem like small potatoes to most folks but to our kids it really, really matters. If our teachers have the resources they need, how can our kids NOT succeed in school?? It's like the difference between having gas in your car to go anywhere you want versus just having enough for one gallon. How far can you get with that?!?!
Risks & Challenges
There are no downsides to this. If you are able to give just a little (or a lot!) it's a win-win for all. Our kids will have the tools they need and you can feel great about helping to fill that void.
Other Ways You Can Help
Please join us in helping to offset the budget cuts that are affecting our fantastic teachers and their classrooms. By supplying the basic building blocks, and having the ability to purchase items to enhance the curriculum, our kids can have an outstanding learning experience. If not, please just spread the word. Thanks for reading our story!!
